Description | QUALIFICATIONS:
Prefer high school diploma or equivalent. Up-to-date or ability to obtain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)/restraint certification and current first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training certification. A valid Arizona Commercial Driver License (CDL), passenger “P”, and school bus “S” driver license endorsement. Prefer two (2) years experience in the maintenance & repair of gas and diesel powered vehicles.
REPORTS TO:
Transportation Coordinator / Lead Mechanic
JOB GOAL:
Assists with ensuring that school buses and white fleet vehicles are safely operating on a daily basis.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITES:
- Performs safety and service inspections on school buses.
- Performs minor body repairs on vehicles.
- Operates District buses and white fleet vehicles.
- Coordinates, performs maintenance, repair and routine service of all vehicles in the District’s fleet, including buses, cars, light duty trucks, and grounds equipment.
- Reviews and properly maintains work orders submitted by authorized personnel.
- Maintains knowledge of transportation regulations pertaining to the maintenance and operation of the District vehicle fleet.
- Performs preventative maintenance procedures (e.g. not limited to, emissions testing, work by vendors on vehicles, and equipment, etc).
- Performs other job duties as assigned.

- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet and District software, preferred accounting used software and Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and other appropriate technology software).
- Knowledge of appropriate business machines and telephones.
- Monitor special system(s), not limited to, including security and fire alarm systems.
